First of all congratulations to all the students of Tamilnadu who appeared for the higher secondary examination as your results were out two days back. And now it's time to seek admission in the college. If you choose to do Engineering course then there'll be lots of doubts arising in you, such as which course, which college, will I get this course for this marks etc.
To get admission in an Engineering college cut off marks plays a vital role. Cut off mark is based on the three subjects Maths, Physics and Chemistry. There are two ways the admission procedure goes. One is through counseling and the other is through management.
Admission through counseling:
The counceling will be conducted by the Anna University. To apply for the counseling you have to fill the counseling form and submit it to the university. The application forms will be available in various centers. To know the details about the centers refer here

Along with your application form you'll get the booklet in which you'll get the details about counseling, procedures to fill the form, about the colleges etc. After you submit your filled form to the university, a call letter will be sent to you from the university. The call letter will contain the date for your counseling. If your cut off mark is higher you'll be called soon and call delays based on your mark.
Before appearing to your counseling get enough knowledge about the colleges and also decide your course. To choose a good college just check out the university website there they have published the pass percentage of all the engineering colleges so from that you can choose top colleges. Admission through management:
This is applicable to get admission in self financing engineering colleges afflicted to Anna University. A fixed number of seats will be allotted for the management by the university. Here you can directly approach to the college which you like to join. You'll get the application directly in the college campus or their office located some where in the city. Along with your form you have to provide you mark list of both 10th and +2, birth and community certificate, TC from your school. Here there’s no counseling procedure. And the college will allow you to write an entrance exam in the subject’s maths, physics and chemistry.
